Follow us this way to the Bazaar! Our food adventure to the Bazaar Ramadhan, a very, very long overdue post.
We can’t contain our enjoyment to finally be able to visit the bazaar in PJ (Petaling Jaya) after so many failed attempts on planning to go as both our timing are very hectic at the moment.
Walking towards the bazaar, we were greeted by the wonderful smell of awesome foods from a far, waiting for us to explore. It even made us hungrier faster despite dinner time was still an hour or two away.
The Bazaar
Our main goal for that day is to first get our hands on some Satay (Barbequed Spiced Meat Skewer), Ayam Percik (Roasted Spiced Chicken) and some interesting stuffs along the way.
Things We See
Stall #1 – Murtabak JOMBLO
The title of this stall caught our attention. It was so interesting that we decided to buy one chicken Murtabak from them! Some closed up shot on the preparation of the Murtabak.
Verdict: 7/10! Not the best chicken Murtabak that we have tried. However, the meat portion was generously filled inside the pancake.
Stall #2 – Deyen’s Ayam Percik
My gawd! The smell of the Ayam Percik was so amazingly pleasing when it was being cooked on top of the BBQ grill! That alone attracted us to buy 2 (one for each) pieces of chicken!
Verdict: 8/10! The Ayam Percik was by far the best we tried. The meat was tender and soft, spices around the chicken was also well marinated.
Stall #3 – Simphony Satay
Satay in bazaar, is a must buy no matter what. There are varieties of stalls selling satays to choose from, so we go with this random stall to try it out.
Some shots around the stall. We were a little skeptical on the lamb satay, so we only brought both beef and chicken to try it out.
Verdict: 7/10! The satays, being both chicken and beef, was also good! Spices around the meat was well marinated. However, if we were to choose the best, the chicken satay will be our pick!
Stall #4 – Murtabak Rendang
As we thought our food hunting journey comes to an end, we chanced upon a Murtabak stall that sells Murtabak Rendang. Something that we felt a little unique as the addition of rendang in the Murtabak is something that we never seen before.
Though the queue was long, we just have to wait in line to get our hands on this to try out the difference between the normal Murtabak and the Rendang ones.
Verdict: 8/10! To our surprise, the Murtabak Rendang was really good! Portion was generously filled inside the pancake and the taste was good!
Our Takeaways?
Perks for being a Malaysian is to enjoy foods from diverse culture. Though it was a short food hunting trip around the bazaar, we did brought what we want and getting ready to “Buka Puasa” at home before the sky starts pouring.
