Great To Be Young Again. Trip Down Memory Lane, The Time Tunnel Museum

The Time Tunnel Museum, the first memorabilia museum in Brinchang, brings you to a trip down memory lane, filled with artefacts and collectables. Making us feel great to be young again for the moment.

The entrance fee is way too cheap to even justify the time we spent in there. We actually taking in everything slow, enjoying the moment, finding all the nooks and crannies of something we can relate to during our childhood and learn some history along the way.

The Old School Classic

At the entrance, we were greeted by a very well preserved old school Austin Morris with a valid roadtax sitting inside the museum (Yes, it is still legal to drive this car on the road!).

Feels Great to be Young Again – Down Memory Lane

Walking through the museum really brings back memories to the things we do or have during our childhood era. For like when we’re young, our parents will always get us a unique “Tabung aka coinbox” to encourage us to save our pocket money after we come back from school everyday.

As years goes by, we have owned a few “Tabungs” with different styles and patterns. Some of the “Tabung” even makes a melody whenever we drop a coin into it! It somehow motivates the younger us back in the days to try to save as much money everyday!

Though we wonder how the younger kids save their money these days. Do they have a unique “Tabungs” for themselves to save money? If you have a younger kid, do leave the pink bears a comment on how your children save money. Maybe it is time for us to encourage our two pink bears to save money so that they can use their money to travel instead 😁

Back then, though we do not have mobile phones, tablets or a computer as source of entertainment, our childhood is never dull, we get to play with friends outside the house with some of the toys seen below!

From cutting cutouts to make a paper dress, collecting stickers, to varieties of different toys that we used to play and entertain ourselves with our family and friends.

Electrical Appliances

There is also no such thing as a flat screen TV, electric piano and oven. Even old switches, that are non-product compliant are seen here too! Though now we have an even more advanced switch nowadays, it’s called… The Nintendo Switch 😛

Old School Coffee Shop

Not to be missed is an old school coffee shop, a place where we usually dine in with our family once or twice every week in the morning. This round, as illustrated, the two pink bears are enjoying the company of their mummy re-enacting our childhood days in the coffee shop.

Meanwhile…

Hoping maybank to donate money to our wallet
A Bear: Please put more money into papa’s wallet so he can put his money into mine!

We do enjoy ourselves in this museum, brings back a lot of memories that we both wished that we can be our younger self again. Though it is alright to be in the past for a moment, we do need be at the present, put our eyes and look at what is ahead of us.

It is only the tip of the iceberg showcasing part of the artefacts and memorabilia in this museum, so when you come by Cameron Highlands, do make it as part of your itinerary as we felt it’s well worth visiting it!
