How To Be A Lord For Half A Day?
How to be a lord for half a day? Eating scones at The Lord’s Café! Haha jokes aside, this café will be our last scone hunting of the day as our Cameron Trip has come to an end.
Be A Lord – The Lord’s Café
As we thought going early to the café will give us an advantage by not queuing, we were both awfully wrong about it. Upon reaching, the queue started picking up fast and getting longer!
While queueing, there is a menu by the sidewalk for patrons to view while waiting for their turn to enter the café. Unfortunately, due to the queue was long, we were unable to take photo of the full menu by the sidewalk.
Stepping into the café, first thing we need to do is to make our order and pay before seated. As this was our first brunch of the day, every single food item we see in the menu, we wanted to order! Just look at the list below, please forgive my ugly handwriting😬
Cream Scone
As usual, the scones were freshly made upon order. It was fluffy, pair it with the homemade strawberry jam… mind blown!! We felt that the homemade strawberry jam is the “pièce de résistance” albeit it was just a sidekick that is use to pair together with the scone. Unfortunately, the homemade strawberry jam is not for sale.
Verdict: 9/10! This has got to be one of the best scone pairing with homemade strawberry jam that we have had so far! It was so good that we ordered extra to bring home. A must try!
Strawberry Fruity Scone
The strawberry fruity scone retains the fluffiness with a mix of fruit similar to the cream scone. Though the taste was as nice and different, our taste buds were spoiled by the original cream scone we had before this.
Verdict: 8/10! As nice as the original scone with mix of fruit, we still prefer the original scone over this. Also a must try!
Chicken Pie
Nothing much to shout out for this chicken pie. Freshly made and warm, nice and that’s about it 🤣
But if it was your first visit, you may give this a try but we felt this can be easily available in any cafés within KL.
Verdict: 6/10! We felt that it can be easily available in cafés within KL.
Banana Chocolate Cake
Ufff…. As a chocolate and banana fan, I love this a lot! The chocolate was so thick and moist with hints of banana taste making it a very delightful dessert to have! To me it really hits the spot in every single cake dimension imaginable! If le wife did not control me, I would have walk to the counter, order this, and make the staff mad at me again for not ordering more early… Maybe it was just my imagination🤣
Verdict: 8/10! If we were to visit Cameron again, this would be in my order list!
Apple Pie
Our initial order supposed to be strawberry crepe. However, they do not sell crepe menu at that time, so we switched to apple pie instead.
Overall this apple pie tasted like a typical homemade style apple pie. Not to my liking due to the strong apple taste but on the other hand, le wife likes it!
Verdict: 6/10! Though is not to my liking, le wife rated this a 6 as she felt it was just a typical homemade style kind of apple pie.
Hash Brown + Egg (Sunny Side Up)
Unfortunately, we have forgotten to feed our camera with the hash brown and egg in perfect shape as a closeup shot, we managed to save the yolk before it was too late 😛
Jokes aside, the hash brown was of a different taste profile which we were unable to describe. Feels homemade but we may be wrong, with the unique taste and we think is somewhat nice?
Verdict: 7/10! It was an acquired taste for us which we felt was nice and different from the usual hash browns we had.
Some Touristy Shots
Our Takeaways?
If we were to visit Cameron Highlands again, The Lord’s Café will always be in our itinerary! They offer one of the best scones we have ever had, pair it with the homemade strawberry jam… mind blown!
Though it’s really unfortunate that the café do not sell their homemade strawberry jam. But hey, that’s the fun of it right? To make another plan in the near future just for the scones and the strawberry jam😊
Overall this trip does let us wind down, chill and relax a lot. Seen a few places which we found memorable like The Time Tunnel, our first “Candlelight Dinner” date, to going crazy without a plan to takeoff to our first Impromptu Adventure right after our Mulu trip!
Will we do it again? For sure!
