One trip not enough. We did something stupid!
One trip not enough. If you think our previous trip to Miri and Mulu ends, you are wrong! This round, we road trip to Cameron Highlands the next day after touching down KL! (Read More here: It’s been a while. Travelling from KL to Miri The Two Pink Bears Miri – Mulu) The itinerary for this trip is mainly to chill, relax and follow the flow.
Ipoh
On our road trip, we decided to take a little detour to Ipoh for early morning breakfast and grab some snacks along the way before going up to Cameron Highlands.
First Stop – Nam Heong Old Town White Coffee Shop
Our first breakfast stop after a long drive from KL. It’s coffee and dim sum time! While le wife is queuing to order some dim sum and egg tarts, I went and order a bowl of “kuey teow aka thin rice noodle” prawn.
The coffee shop is always crowded, do take note and if possible, bring your family or friends so that they can “chope” the seat while you’re queuing for dim sum. (In Malaysia, “chope“ means finding and reserving an available spot)
Second Stop – Kedai Biskut Sin Eng Heong
After breakfast, we drop by the famous biscuit shop, Sin Eng Heong for a short while to grab some kaya puffs. The queue there wasn’t that long and we’re able to buy our puffs within 30 minutes.
Though this shop is known for it’s famous kaya puffs, we do not go crazy by buying the whole box like any other tourists do. Instead, we just brought 5 pieces in a box as a small snacks for us to munch on throughout our stay in Cameron Highlands.
Unfortunately, we did not take any photo in this shop, so we replace it with the our old photo back in 2019.
Cameron Highlands
After getting what we need for ourselves in Ipoh, it’s time to attack the mountain! Guess who is the one attacking the mountain? Also, can you spot the two pink bears?
Checking in – The Bala’s Holiday Chalet
We were quite disappointed on the overall cleanliness and the maintenance of the room for the price we paid. The toilet seat cover is loose, the air ventilation fan in the toilet is not functioning and the overall room is very dusty. Hopefully they can do something to improve the room quality in future.
With all the negatives aside, this chalet do have very beautiful sceneries around to make up for it. Some model shots we took around the chalet below during our stay period.
Boh Tea Plantation
Known for it’s most iconic attractions in Cameron Highland, this tea garden offers a holistic tea experience coupled with a beautiful backdrop of tea fields for us to feast our eyes with!
Though we’re not able to visit the tea production center as it was closed for public visit (not sure for how long), we still do enjoy our “high tea” session finding a nearly perfect spot with the tea fields as the background.
There is nothing much to shout out in terms of the food as both of us felt that it tasted ordinary, but the tea we ordered tasted fresh and nice! There is also an overlooking deck for tourists to get a closer look at the sea of tea fields in front of them, enabling them to good photo shots too!
Since we’re there, why not do some touristy stuffs together with the two pink bears as well!
Our two most important member (Read more here: The Two Pink Bears), the two pink bears, the face of this blog, is part of the reason why we started our blog to share our experiences to people and a platform for us to reminiscence in the future.
More photos around the tea fields outside Boh Tea Centre.
